By using hydrophobic concrete, several layers of membranes may be eliminated, which often use high VOC emitting materials or petroleum-based/hot applied coatings. Hycrete Element concrete can be used as a waterproof base and a minimal amount membrane material may be used to bridge potential cracks in the concrete.
