Richard Guinn, Chief Executive Officer

Richard comes to Hycrete with 35 years of extensive experience in the building envelope industry. Most recently he served as President of invelope, a division of CENTRIA, a leading architectural panel manufacturer. During his tenure there, he and his team created and patented a new and innovative approach to building high performance exterior wall systems. He has also served as Vice President of Business Development. In that role, he was responsible for company wide business activities, primarily focusing on creating new enterprise market and product opportunities. Richard was also instrumental in securing the first-ever Cradle to Cradle certification for an exterior architectural product. Also while at CENTRIA, he served in various areas of the company’s sales and marketing operations. His role as Vice President of International Sales included significant emphasis on the Pacific Rim developing markets. He was also involved in various capacities of sales management, functioning as Regional Sales Manager and Divisional Manager for the company. He earned his MBA from Temple University and a BS in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois. Richard has served as a member of the advisory board to Cradle to Cradle and has spoken frequently in construction industry forums regarding various topics relating to innovation and sustainability.

David C. Darwin, Ph.D., LEED AP, Vice President of Research and Development

Dave leads Hycrete’s research efforts towards enhancing Hycrete’s hydrophobic technology platforms in concrete and other potential applications. Dave brings extensive cement and concrete admixture experience through prior research and new product development positions with W. R. Grace. Dave holds 10 U.S. Patents in the area of polymer technologies in concrete, including a landmark role as inventor of the polycarboxylate superplasticizer line, and has scientific publications in many diverse areas. Immediately before joining Hycrete in 2007, Dave provided technology, technical service, and marketing management in adsorbent, coatings, food, pharmaceutical, and personal care markets. Dave holds a B.A. in chemistry and integrated sciences from Northwestern University, a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of California at Berkeley, and an MBA in finance from the Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland, College Park.

David C. Dennsteadt, Vice President of Sales & Marketing

David has worked at Hycrete two years extending his responsibilities from Technical Services and Operations to include Sales & Marketing. David’s primary focus is on expanding Hycrete’s presence globally via multiple sales channels while ensuring the Marketing, Technical Services and Engineering Teams support/assist customers and partners as Hycrete aggressively pursues new markets and applications.

Prior to joining Hycrete David worked for 14 years with RPM’s ($3.5 billion) division Performance Coatings Division ($900 million), the leader in corrosion protection products and polymer solutions & construction services. In this time David expanded his role from Product/Project Engineer to International Business Development Manager to Operations Manager of European Operations to Managing Director of Stonhard Europe, living in the Middle East and Europe. Most recently before joining Hycrete David was Director of Corporate Development, where he handled all acquisition activity for the group, seeking out domestic and international acquisition candidates, as well as joint venture partners while assisting in establishing operations in new international markets. David holds a BS in Civil Engineering from Rutgers University and an MBA from New York University’s Stern Executive MBA Program.
